The Academy was founded alongside the late Judy Smith, whose legacy remains woven into its foundation and philosophy. Together, they envisioned a learning environment where clinical rigor and lived wisdom could exist side by side.

Cicely entered the natural health space in 2002 when she began experimenting with skincare formulation. Today, her work has evolved to bridge precision with pattern recognition. Trained in functional medicine and botanical therapeutics, she teaches from the intersection of physiology and root-cause assessment — where complex symptom pictures are thoughtfully traced back to their underlying factors. Her approach is rooted in an East-by-West philosophy: structured, integrative, and deeply human.
